# Software as a Service (SaaS) will become irrelevant with AI

SaaS solutions will soon become irrelevant because of AI

**_Databricks_** **CEO Ali Ghodsi**, after clearing a loan facility for the roughly $5 billion dollar enterprise stated in an interview: "_So the threat to SaaS businesses, is that people no longer spend their careers becoming masters of a particular product: Salesforce specialists, or ServiceNow, or SAP. Once the interface is just language, the products become invisible, like plumbing._"

**What does this mean to the non-technical executive responsible for spending on software?** It means that: Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Matter Management Systems, CRM's, Financial Practice Systems, and nearly ever SaaS _[Software as a Service]_ solutions are interfaces (screens with drop downs, report writers, buttons, right click menus), that pull collected data (information) into the user interface (user's screen or window), which an end user can then use. **AI removes all of this because an end user can simply 'ask' the AI** **to provide the exact same information, without having to "know" how to use the screen/program/interface.** Instead of going to the screen to run a report, which pulls data from all the captured "client information", "invoices", "purchase orders", "billed time" and so on, a user only need type in natural language something like this:

_"Copilot, how many Widgets were sold in the Month of May, in the State of Oregon, to Retail Dealers whose company name doesn't start with the letter A? I need to know how many widgets were sold by retailers other than Amazon."_

And the system will give you the answer, in any format you want. It can provide charts, and graphs and so on.

**In this type of environment, what is functional requirement of "big SaaS" except to store data? Why do I need "all of these software solutions"?**

The answer that is beginning to concern software companies as their stock valuations are beginning to fall is:

**There isnt a reason.**

Now is the time to put all your data in one place. Now is the time to make sure that all your data is properly organized, and secure. Now is the time to ensure it is on the most secure platform (Microsoft), and then make sure it is properly organized (metadata, permissions, etc.) so your chosen AI can more quickly and efficiently provide your end users with the information they require, without having to pay for multiple SaaS solutions.
